In Stockholm and Skellefteå, we’re developing our LiDAR system. Our responsibilities range from product lead, optics, mechanics, electronics to SW development and system engineering. To our aid we also have a modern and fully equipped testing facility
Background: LiDAR is an emerging technology enabling autonomous vehicles (AV) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) by producing high resolution range measurements. As the LIDAR is used as a safety system it is important to include some self awareness and the capability to report limited functionality. This study aims at investigating and compare different ways to detect blockage of the LiDAR window. This should be done by building different experimental set-ups and perform and analyze measurements.
Purpose: The goal is to analyze different possibilities to detect a blockage of the LiDAR causing reduced performance.
