Master Thesis: Doppler measurements with coherent detection LiDAR

In Stockholm and Skellefteå, we’re developing our LiDAR system. Our responsibilities range from product lead, optics, mechanics, electronics to SW development and system engineering. To our aid we also have a modern and fully equipped testing facility
Background: LiDAR is an emerging technology enabling autonomous vehicles (AV) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) by producing high resolution range measurements. By mixing the return optical signal with reference light coherent detection can be achieved. The velocity of a target can then be detected by a Doppler shift. In this project the performance of coherent LIDARs should be investigate by simulations of LiDAR signals and noise sources. Existing lab setups of coherent LiDAR should also be used to experimentally study these properties.
Purpose: The goal is to analyze different properties of coherent detection in LiDARs.
- Gain knowledge about optical sensors and especially coherent detection.
